Top Projects of Interior Design Masters Contestants
You must have heard of BBC One’s 'Interior Design Masters’ – the biggest interior design show that has every home enthusiast at the edge of their seat 👀
If you're not clued up, the show takes ten aspiring interior designers, or those just starting out their careers, to compete for one life-changing collaboration with a global homeware brand, to produce their own line of home furnishings. Alan Carr meets interiors guru Michelle Ogundehin to hunt for talent and daring designs.
Three members of our creative community have done us proud and made it to the show. Let’s learn about their time on Interior Design Masters and commend their top projects 👏
Sheree Millington
Sheree Millington, or Shez, is a Margate-based copywriter and content whizz, now dabbling in interior design. Starring in Series 5 of Interior Design Masters, we've witnessed how she puts a fresh twist on maximalist interiors 🎨
Shez upcycled her kitchen from head-to-toe – her first true deep-dive into the world of DIY, and an opportunity for her to fully express her interior style. Featuring electric blue cabinets, bold brass hardware and well-curated decor, the project really shows her fearless taste in interiors. We even popped around to see Shez's kitchen in person.
Ry Elliott
Wondering what Ry Elliot was doing before Interior Design Masters, Series 4? Well, Ry started out as an assistant interior designer, and since making it to Episode 4, he's been embracing his newly discovered, earthy interior style in his own London-based interior design studio 🌿
“I came onto the show not really having a specific style, but as the episodes went on, I realised the calm, neutral and biophilic aesthetic was for me’.” – Ry
On Instagram (@ryelliott_), you’ll find him sharing his vast knowledge of all-natural interiors, by masterfully piecing together all-natural, biophilic moodboards that prioritise sustainable interior design.
This rich, sophisticated moodboard is Ry’s stand-out project, combining contrasting materials such as wood, recycled plastic, cork and stone, to form the backdrop for our retro-inspired ALVAs in Brass.
Hannah Drakeford
Hannah is an unapologetically bold interior designer, based in London. Before starring on Series 5 of Interior Design Masters, Hannah spent 20 years in fashion visual merchandising, before switching to her dream career as an interior designer 🏠
She completed a diploma in interior design, all whilst upcycling and selling cement pots and vases. Clearly an ambitious creative that injects colour wherever she goes, Hannah has even redesigned her own flat and shares her home projects over on @hannah_drakeford_design.
Hannah’s best project has to be her bright green sideboard upcycle, as she completely transformed her dated piece of furniture with well-rounded cuts of MDF.
Now you know your fair share about the talented contestants that bring the show to life, be sure to catch Season 5 of Interior Design Masters at Tuesdays 8pm on BBC One 📺
